Got my second-hand Merc a while back from Merc dealer. At the time the passenger side fron tyre was bald, so I complained about it.

They did swap it out and replaced just this one with a new one. So now I've got a brand new one on the passenger side and a half-worn (but OK) one on the driver side.

fortunately, they're both Michelin Pilots (even though the tread patterns look a little different).

Just wondering - is this sort of thing advisable? Generally in the past I've changed tyres axle at a time... (i.e. both front, both back)

I agree I have always changed a pair of tyres together. What is your spare like???

I usually put new tyres on the back anyway so if you do have to buy one get them to swop them around.
