What size did your originally came with? I.e. what size is listed in the service book?

I don't think the 195 and 205 tyres are interchangeable on the same wheel.

Well, I'm not sure. It has 205s on it now and when I bought it, but it does quote both sizes in the handbook for my wheel/alloy.

However, thinking about it, as its the estate, does the 205 therefore suit it better? I suspect it might.

According to that Froome fellow's website, it is 195/65 x 15 for standard suspension cars and 205/60 x 15 for sportline. However, given the number of people who have changed wheels over the years, I would stick with what you have got.

Not sure what year your car is, but the manual for my 2006 C-Class W203 says:

205/55 R16 91H (C200 CDI) on 7J wheels

205/55 R16 91V (C220 CDI, C180K, C200K) on 7J wheels

205/55 R16 91W (C230, C280) on 7J wheels

225/45 R17 91W (C320 CDI, C350) on 7.5J wheels

These are the 'narrowest' tyres for the models - the wider alternatives are also allowed - but it seems that 195/65 R15 is no longer specified as suitable for the C-Class, but I do not know in what year this was dropped.
