Ugliest Mercedes in recent times????? What do you think?

Surprised the Vaneo didn't get a mention:

As an aside I saw yesterday that MB are discontinuing the T Class, which I never even knew existed! It's the people-carrier version of the Citan van (re-badged Renault Kangoo) which is also being axed.

They seem to be making a habit of dropping models after only a couple of years at the moment (e.g. X Class pickup aka Nissan Navara, and EQC).

I could live with that yellow one as a dog/tip car.

Best looking Merc I have owned
Love those... if they had more room in the back I'd have has one instead of my saloon version. I often wonder why their was never a factory E63 version.....can't beat a fast coupe! There is a DIY one I see at SADCASE though. Very cool.

Loads around as the Renault version has been on sale for a good few years. You could probably get a good deal on the MB version if they're dumping stock.

A lot of people we know have similar vehicles, based on small vans. The VW Caddy one is popular, also the Ford (Tourneo Connect) which looks quite smart.

Isn’t this mainly a case of a balance of form and function?

Of course a practical city/SUV type vehicle is never going to be designed as purely aesthetically pleasing object, but a 2-door/2-seater can’t do the sorts of things those vehicles can.

Hence the van based ones are even more ugly.

Horses for courses I guess! :)

I wouldn't have too much augment with that choice of 6 although I'd have to see the EQS in the flesh to judge. The real test will come when they are older. It's always been a quality of an MB that designs last the test of time and still look good at 10, 15, 20 years old etc. In fact it was a major reason why I first bought an MB having tired of other cars that dated quickly. I doubt that 4 of the list are going to pass that test. The A class might be a classic with the longer facelift version looking quite good and maybe the EQS.

How did they ever think this could be an elegant S Class?
Surely it won't pass the test of time?

That's the problem...its not different....or aging we'll....lots of Chinese cars have that smooth characterless look. I would have expected that to be far eastern if I'd first seen it without the badge.
