My 2004 ML has COMAND 2.0, option 388 (UHI) on the data card and a hole in the console where I assume a phone cradle used to sit. So fair to assume that the cabling etc. is all there

Is it possible to utilise UHI to provide a bluetooth connection?

You need to find a used ViseeO MB-2

Almost everything else will echo when used with D2B (i.e COMAND 2) and UHI.

Thanks Richard. I can't see a connector in the armrest so is it likely to be elsewhere or is it practical to add it?

On W163, there is a console for the UHI connector to the left (or to the right on LHD cars) of the centre console.

Send us a photo of what you have there, sounds like someone has removed the UHI connector for some reason

Cheers

I had a ViseeO MB-2 in the Vito (bought new, and flashed with the latest firmware) and didn't find it that great. Periodically it failed to link with the phones, and I had to turn off the contact list update as that took forever.

I bought a used M-B HFP 'puck' on eBay and that has worked perfectly ever since. There have been several versions of this - the one I got was fairly old (therefore cheap), but it's been fine with all our Android phones. We have another one in the C Class (slightly more up to date), and that also works really well for us. If you always have the latest and greatest phones (we don't) it might be that you'd need a newer - and more expensive - version.

As an aside I sold the MB-2 for almost the same as I paid for the M-B puck :thumb:

Yes , but the M-B HFP echoes in almost all D2B cars such as the OP's. The Vito had D2B until 2005, then MY2006 it switched to MOST.

Ah ok. I assume our 2007 S203 will also have MOST.

Yes from the Model Year 2005 facelift (which came out strangely at the end of Q1 2004)

Cheers
