Had to replace rear brakes on my van yesterday. Bad enough that dealer wanted £267+vat for handbrake shoes (same setup as an MB with rear discs). Managed factor parts £66 plus vat.
Noticed the fulcrum lever was a bit battered so went to Citroen for a new one as below:-

Ignore the springy bit which is extra. Expected a tenner, guess how much (it is a lightweight cheap pressing) ?

I imagine it costs less than £5 to make, so that'll be £50 please Sir.

£87 :(

plus VAT :((

So its getting tidied with the new Dremel that I bought out of the £87 plus VAT and getting refitted.

Then I spoke to Nissan for a front handbrake cable on my Cabstar as the factor doesnt list it. Its a simple bit of kit, less complicated than the one I got for the Citroen (factor £25).

£127 plus VAT. A sodding joke.

Can buy a lot of bricks for £127, so I will purchase 8, two for each wheel.
