To verify the mileage, I think I'd want to see a bit more history than just an old service book that was last stamped in the 1980s.

I'm not sure that the driver's seat is saying 24k miles and why are the spare wheel and the wheel well soaking wet ?

Anyone else read anything In the plate?

There's something not quite right about the interior, never seen that wood in a W123, it was usually Zebrano if they had wood. The center console looks like it is from a C107?

Looks fine to me. You got to remember this is an early W123, with a decent spec. Burr walnut was an option at the time and Zebrano wasn't offered as standard like it was later on, post 1980(?) and they are warped ad usual. I spy a period Becker radio casette too.

Got to agree about the condition of the driver's seat though, looks like a cigarette burn.

Probably appear on Ironprice's website soon at double that.

Yes, the plates could interpreted as reading "Bul* S**t"! Might be some value in that plate.

Looks perfectly fine to me, drivers seat cigarette burn is unsightly but not mileage related, it does rather ruin the effect. Interior trim is generally the giveaway and it looks very good.

I think the guy overdid the washing in advance of taking photos.

You'd have difficulty building one for that price!

Interestingly the armrest design is the same as my W114 - I wonder if it is in which case I might find some W123 trim!

Now being sold here at specialist price.

...and using most of the same pictures from the eBay ad.

The mileage hasn't changed!

Decent old mark-up too.

Ad states..."we have commissioned Brian Nair (previously known as MercStar), the well respected Mercedes specialist, to carry out a major service which has included a brand new Mercedes exhaust system."

A major service, which would be the "full" plus ATF/ PAS fluids, coolant flush and brake fluids shouldn't be more than say £700 from an independent (gulp). A full OEM exhaust another £700 inc. fitting? If the car has a patchy history and infrequent use then the service would probably include brake calliper/pad attention which will swell the bill.

As a business, we have to expect a mark-up in the price. Like all Mercedes the maintenance costs will spiral if the car has been ignored and requires a catch-up...
