Hi All,

Has anyone got one of these either for sale or that you can lend me so that I can get one / some made please? For the 55k engine. Alternatively I may be able to work with some good pictures and measurements / dimensions?

Let me know,
Jules.

Hi, yes I know that but they are around £700 I think so was looking to get one made up myself or buy a second hand one.

Speak to Acid @ MSL.

I'm sure he'll have a second hand in his parts department.

If he has then I'll buy it but don't think he will have....

Acid? Do you have one of these tanks?

Hi Jules,

Acid didn't have any when i had my 77mm pulley done. We are also splitting the cooling via an under bonnet tank also. Only yesterday bought an ordinary header tank from a scap yard, that will fit top right hand corner. If i can find a supplier for an Ali purpose built one I'll be swopping tank over later. I will let you know if i find someone for both of us, regarding an Ali tank.

I'm at Trax, if you ate going we can chat about it, & how the pulleys are going.

So let's get this straight... you want someone with a tank developed by Olly at PCS to measure it so you can make one for a lot less money.

I think the 'community' may just take a dim view of that!

Correct.

Ollie did develop the tank yes for RHD, but to be fair these were already available in the US albeit LHD. The theory behind them was already proven but as always over here we are a couple of years behind and our weather is not quite as warm so the demand is less. In the US these tanks are circa $450 and are finished better aesthetically.

I work in Engineering and have developed parts in the past (from scratch) and people still copy them, unless you patent them then that's life.

This is a metal tank, of which I'd like to make one for my own car but more in keeping with the design under the engine bay, I want it to look the part and maybe incorporate additional insulation. Getting hold of one second hand means I don't have to give up my car for a few days, but if that's what it takes then that's what I may do. As for stealing Ollie's market on these then I don't think so.....

I stand corrected on the price it is £550 for the tank, still a reasonable budget for me to do my own.

I am one of the most open forum members on here when it comes to sharing modifications, information on the 55k and testing.

OK well we will just have to agree to disagree on the patent thing as I think in a community that sort of 'threat' shouldn't be necessary.

However what I would do in your situation is approach Olly. Explain what you want to do and why and you may just find he helps you out. What's the worst he can say?

Just a thought :thumb:

It's the Fabtech I was referring too, but it's made for LHD so not sure it would fit without adjustment.

Yes it's a PCS one so at £385 even cheaper than I originally was led to believe, the power of the forum........

I surprised its still available with all 55k platforms on here needing more cooling.
