Hi,
The car is a 2012 E250 CDI S212 estate. The rear air spring compressor cover is a plastic piece that bolts up to some metal framing around the compressor. The metal has started to show some more serious peeling rust. Are those housings incorporated into the main body or are they bolted on. They are painted in body color. If I need a bodyshop to cut and put in new metal, ok, but I would prefer unbolting and bolting in a completely new painted piece. Looking from the back, there is a similar housing centered on the rear with similar issues. Is it welded body part or a bolt on housing? I don't know what that one contains. Probably fuel tank cover, maybe?
My objective is to keep the car in as perfect condition as the economy will allow. I don't know why but its a love affair.
Thank you,
Mark
