hi All. I was driving my CLK around the other day when I heard something hit the underside of the car. it sounded like something had fallen off the car while driving. Now having just had the car serviced the day before I thought the mechanic might have forgotten to re-tighten something and it has now fallen off the car. I stopped and picked up the object but I did not recognize it. It looks like a bracket of some sort but it may be just a piece of junk on the road. But just in case I took it home.
Attached are some photos of the piece in question. If you recognize them please let me know.
The car is running fine as far as I can tell.

Looks like an old bit of Unistrut or similar - hard to tell without scale .

It is about 6.5 cm x 4.5 cm x 4 cm. does that help. I will try to put on a photo with a scale later tonight.

Looks like a bit of an exhaust bracket or support that's failed from corrosion - not something loose that's fallen off the car- yours or anyone else's
