Saw quite a few of these being used as motor homes by German tourists in the Hebrides earlier this year.

The first time a seen a Unimog was on holiday in Austria back in the late 80's

When I worked for the electricity transmission section of the CEGB we had a Unimog amongst the many Land Rovers. It was mainly used for winching equipment and the like up on the electricity pylons.
Never drove it myself but it was a beast.
