Imaging owning a 59 reg Mk1 with zero on the clock! :bannana:
So it's a shell, don't send emails asking about anything else, oh and there's also a fully rebuilt engine and interior and trim?
Reading the listing it will go on an age-related plate, not a 59 plate.
Worth nothing without some form of "proof" that its been built up from a brand-new shell eg photographic build etc.
Lets face it, it won't be built up with all new parts, either, will it? So it would be a zero miles car where most of the running gear could have done significant mileage.....
This will go to someone who won't be building it with second-hand ball joints and a 20 year old gearbox, don't worry about that.
I'd wait until March to register it anyway, if it gets a fresh plate: MK1 0OMF maybe?
Gonna buy it the Gridlock ?
My first car was a Mk1 GTi in black , i have always said that if i had a lottery win , i would have one restored to factory condition to keep in my dream garage !
Lots of happy times in that Golf !
Without a wad of reciepts proving that everything is new, won't it end up on a Q plate?
have you seen this (not quite the same colour but lovely anyway)?

I am not, unfortunately, but I know exactly the sort of person/outfit that will buy it and look forward to seeing the end result.
OK, so I asked around a bit:
Most likely would seem to be the VIN typo on the V5.
