Couldn't we just send the Royal Navy to go and do some pre war training and blow the £hit out of it ? I'm sure the fires would soon go out at the bottom of the sea 😃

BTW, at an old mates funeral a few years ago as the coffin disappeared behind the curtains the song was ‘up in smoke’. Nearly staved off a few of the tears.

Oops, sank to the bottom of the sea.

Does this make salvage more difficult?

From the article I linked in post #16, the specialist salvage team were due to arrive at the ship on 18th Feb, but ocean-going tugs wouldn't be there until next Wednesday (23rd), so unless there was definitive info provided by the evacuated crew, or perhaps from on-deck CCTV, I doubt anyone knows the cause of the fire yet although they may have information about where it started.

It sank after they started to tow it. Now over 2 miles down so they may never know what started the fire.
