I have a 2013 LWB sprinter which I have converted to a motor caravan , at the moment the pay load is down as 3500kg on the log book but the VIN plate has max front axle load at 1650 kg and rear axle max weight at 2250 kgs which works out to 3900 kgs ( not the 3500kg as stated on the VIN plate )
am I right in assuming that if I had a new VIN plate made up with the higher max gross vehicle weight on it and showing the axle weights as they stand on it and send request, photos etc off to the DVLA they would update the log book
