My 2013 C220 has got its first MOT due, plus a 30,000 mile service around the same time. I think the service is the A service (is this the cheaper of the two?).

Anyone know which I should book first and how much I should be expecting to pay? Or should I book them both at the same time?

Cheers all.

With 30,000 MLS it would have had the A service at 15,000, and this would be the B, which is quite a bit more expensive, when I had an E220 coupe the A service was £260 at Merc dealer, that was a couple of years ago, someone on here could be more up to date I expect. Get the MOT done at same time they may give you a discount if you ask nicely, can't see why not.

2016 would suggest it's an A that's needed, yearly so A in 2014, B in 2015 and A this year

If you type your reg and mileage into the service checker on the mercedes website it gives you a breakdown and cost of the service needed. B service on mine was circa £650 so anything around the halfway mark possibly cheaper for an A

I've just booked my C220 Coupe in for a B service at Glasgow, £620.

Ouch

If you are out of warranty, get it out of the stealer network
If you are still in warranty you can still go to a decent garage, but some would quote confidence if a warranty claim arose.

warranty ends in January 2017, as you say, confidence if a warranty claim arose. Will decide if I'm keeping the car past this day or not near the time.

£236 for the service plus £53 for the MOT. Nothing earth-shattering.

Anyone have any idea how to ask for a discount if I'm getting them both done together? Got a feeling if I ask for a discount they'll recoup it by telling me I need new wiper blades for £80 or something.

That is the price of an A service at a dealer so not sure why you'd want a further discount, although I thought MOT's were less than that.

I think if you have MOT with them then if any work is needed to pass then you get discount on parts or something like that

Personally I'd go to just any MOT station for £30

Just ask!

They can only say yes or no and you are under no obligation to have any extra work done, it really is that simple.

Different car and out of warranty but I've just paid what amounts to less than £250 for a B service with an independent Merc specialist. Makes the main dealer service look very dear.
