Upcoming Top Gear - Fast Estates?

We have just replaced the gearbox in an E63 Estate (within a morning) for a certain Mr J Clarkson (Orders from Milton Keynes). Seems there was talk of Manchester Airport and a number of other high powered estate cars the other night..............

Can't remember dates, but IIRC RS4 production is winding down now to be replaced by the RS6 - maybe a good-bye to the RS4 or a preview of the RS6?

The M5 touring is also a relatively new kid on the block too, so I guess there's plenty of potential for a story.

I couldn't remember whether there was an RS6 or not, the RS4 is too small to compare with an E class and a 5 series.

Any chance of a better explanation please? Was this a car owned by JC? Or was it a demo car on loan to Top Gear for a publicity sketch? What was the link between the car and Manchester Airport?

Sounds to me like they were filming a segment for TG (or perhaps one of Jeremy's DVDs) at Manc Airport, and they had some loan cars. My guess is that JC broke the E63 transmission and that MB HQ in Milton Keynes arranged for a rapid replacement.


Thinking about this - they could choose from some cracking estates over the years:

Audi
Volvo
BMW
Mercedes
etc
