Update command

Hi any thought on the 3 years you get with updates on the command in certain vehicles !!! It's free for the first 3 years , but then how does it get updated ?? But after the 3 years how can you get the updates ??? Any help please , both vehicles are now out of the 3 years free updates ,...
Just thought about it as driving home , never asked at MB dealer as never thought about it

Map discs are being by sold by dealers (2014/15 version) for £95 apparently. Otherwise, speak to comand.co.uk

You get 3 years free, then you pay through the nose. There are annual update discs, normally anything from £99 to £150, and if you're on a version of NTG that does not allow re-use of update discs (like NTG4.5 compared to NTG4 on W204 post and pre facelift Comand systems) you do not even have the option of buying "second user" genuine MB DVD's!

Can't really bitch about just MB doing this satnav rip-off - Porsche are even worse!! Probable best bet is ignore Comand and use Tomtom or similar!!

I don't have any discs in either vehicles , its the latest units that don't use the discs , not sure how it's been updated the last 3 years , but has been as it has new roads on which was not in the area 18 month ago .

The dealer did it! Without asking too. Assuming your car has been in a dealer the last year or so.

Have a look at the pics on this site. Likely you have NTG2.5. There are lots of pics on Google images too, in Vito's.

You will have the NTG2.5 same as mine. They are standard on the Vito Sport-X. Lots of pics on Google images showing Vito fitment.

Yes for DVDs or like mine with the tv tuners you can watch digital tv

Weird , but my friend had this issue too , took it back to the dealer whom repaired the fault ... You have comand ?

Looking at the pics of yours you have the audio 20 , the predecessor of the NTG 2.5.

The NTG 2.5 is muich better than the audio 20 as it has far more features. Does yours have steering wheel control buttons for the stereo/phone ???

i have looked on ebay, but again they are going for £400 to £500.
Any advice people?

Comand systems are extremely complex when integrated with a vehicle's electronics. There are many versions and compatibility issues to deal with. Don't waste your money with supply only sellers on Ebay etc. Use a trusted specialist like Mercedes Comand Navigation and Audio Specialists
