upgrade phone on E320 cdi

I had a 6210 now got 6310i, worked fine in the car with their intergrated system thingy (technical I am not)

rang up Merecedes and they said i need a new control unit and other bits and bobs and can we have £550 please


is there any other way getting round this?


please help a lady in distress

I'm told that the 6210 cradle can be "software updated" to work with the 6310i. One of our members, known as MBenzNL, has mentioned this to me before, maybe he can help...

I e-mailed him a few days ago and no reply yet either, I think he is busy installing comand and phone kits in the USA at the moment!

I pressed the

button and came up with a couple of useful threads:

New CLK 6210>6310i

It looks like you will either have to get the interface PROM updated by someone, or replace the unit with another. Would you like me to find out which part you need and how much it costs? From what I have just read it is around £185 +VAT, and should be a straight-swap with the other unit. Not sure what the stealership were going to do with the extra £300!
