If they are painted red they ain't genuine Mercedes---- could be Ventura or other after market make - they might be H and R or Eibach - but should say so on the springs if they were in which case they may be worth a punt----- the fact the poster doesn't mention this poses the question???
For someone with a car with broken springs could be a possibility at that sort of price I suppose?
Cheap W124 / W201 springs = waste of time & money

These springs are GMax.
Gmax say in their advert they are shot peened which should help the stress corrosion fracture problem. Gmax - If you are looking for an Gmax Mercedes-Benz E 250D, 260, 280, 300, D, 320, 24V, Coupe, Turbo D Excluding 4X4 (1.1985>5.1995) Spring Kit Lowers by 40mm (30 MB 04) click here Gmax
However they do seem to have lost a bit of their protective coating and are starting to corrode- the fronts worse than the rears. the rears seem undamaged coating wise.
Problem with second hand springs as Bolide pointed out the cost+hassle of installing /removing them normally far outweighs any cost saving on price.
