Hi, my brother is buying a second hand e220d premium saloon w213 68 plate tomorrow , what are some of the things to look out for when we check this particular car model
Thanks

100% the ad blue display shows range , using steering wheel buttons.

Timing chain rattle on cold start if it's high miler .

Usual things like tyre wear etc .

As above.

The AdBlue system is the main potential issue here.

And absolutely no EML!

Wonderful thank you for the responses I have noted the above

You beat me to it.

Any Merc with adblue, avoid - just do a forum search and you will see what I mean unless thing have improved over that last year or two

Unless he is planning to do more miles than the Enterprise, buy a petrol...too many potential scary bills with Adblue....any money you may have saved on fuel will be more than wiped out by a single Adblue fault out of warranty.

I have mentioned this before, I liked the look of the GLE, cost over 50k. The only petrol version alternatives of this car were at the time the
very expensive to buy and maintain AMG versions. I/we could not justify the outlay and expenses of the petrol versions/ Nor was I aware of the problems with diesel's and short drives and worse still, the Ad-blue fiasco. That was Jan 2016 when I placed the order for the GLE
