Anyone know if I will get any problems using my C240 to jump start another car?

I seem to remember reading you shouldnt do this with Merc's as it can damage electrical systems?

You probably shouldn't do it with any car as "it may damage electrical systems"!

You always have the option of isolating the battery by unplugging all the leads so it's just powering the dead vehicle! ;)

you are ok if your car is running and you are jump starting someone else... but if its the merc that is dead, then the best thing is leave the jump leads on for a while after the car is started...
the damage is caused by the current shock... i.e once the car is started, the current levels are high and when you remove the leads all of a sudden it drops causing all sorts of errors in the systems... particularly causes problems on W211's onwards...
By leaving the leads on for a bit longer it gives the battery a chance to charge up and the current drop is minimised when you remove the leads...

My car is fine, its the 1968 280s which is dead, thanks for the tips :)
