Afternoon all,

I'm going to be at Millbrook Proving Ground all day Thursday as part of a driving course. Given the fact i'm going to be hooning around all day on private roads, i'm going to need plenty of fuel (need to have as close to a full tank as possible at the start) - can anyone who lives in the Bedford/Millbrook area tell me what the availability is like of Super Unleaded? I'm not fussy on who's brand nor its price, just has to be 97+ for my car.

I know there are a couple of Shell garages in the vicinity of the track, so plan on topping up there if they have V-Power, before heading in.

The situation seems to be improving now (at least in the East Midlands - although my local Tesco have no Momentum and haven't for a few days) so i'm hoping by the end of next week I should be ok, but thought i'd ask and see if anyone had any insights!

Thanks in advance for any info.

Simon

Nearest is I think Shell in Flitwick. I’d pack some octane booster if I was you.

Great! Just what I was hoping not to hear.... Well i've invested in some Millers octane booster so I suppose i'm going to have to bite a bullet somewhere....

Enjoy your day. Lots of fun to be had at Milbrook.

The Texaco on the A1 roundabout at Sandy is not that far away and has had plenty of 97 over the past few days, which may be a lifesaver as the Shell garages closer to Millbrook look to be selling it as fast as it gets delivered, for obvious reasons. Ultimately octane booster is the best insurance as availability on the day across the area is just not predictable. Tesco Momentum not seen for a number of days likewise.

Jeez gregory , talk about $hit timing for burning fuel at an obscene rate (could have been worse , could have been last week !) I hope you are able to get all the fuel you need on the day .

Enjoy :thumb:

Thanks and Yep - timing couldn’t be worse. The course I’m doing has already been postponed once due to a bereavement in my family back in June. I don’t really want to postpone again as it cost me £700 rescheduling last time (on top of the not inconsiderable cost of the course as a whole!).

Thanks for that, will bear it in mind. Just hoping the combination of 95 plus octane booster (if I have to resort to it) doesn’t do something silly, like break my engine ….
