I have a 2001 year V220 cdi (forerunner of the Veto) I think it is a W638, and I am having trouble closing the offside rear sliding door. When I slide it forward to close it, it fails to latch on. I then try again, with a bit more force, which does not help at all. It seems the more force used the more the door bounces back. After numerous tries it will, for reasons unknown, suddenly latch. Does anybody have any experience, or suggestions for this problem please ? (other than taking it to the stealers !)
A second question about the same vehicle : the seam at the bottom of the same door mentioned above is rusting quite badly, and I think that if I tried to remove the rust a hole will almost certainly appear.
Is it possible that this could be covered by the Mobilife guarantee, which states that if a hole appears in body work, which has rusted from the inside out, M.B. will put it right F.O.C. I would be most grateful for any opinions
Thanks
Don

Problem solved.

:)Hello all,
I eventually found a solution for the problem of the sliding door not latching, (very simple.) Two squirts of WD40 on the latch at the rear of the door, and problem solved. The vehicle was standing on a slight incline, I moved the door slightly, it continued by force of gravity, and latched on of its own accord !
Regards,
Don
