I’ve been getting a fault code connected to the EGR so was having a look round the engine and noticed the area around the intake pipe and the turbo was oily so I took off the batwing to have a look.
The old gasket was torn in a couple of places so I replaced it. I also noticed that the pipe was cracked where it meets the turbo. You couldn’t really see it once the jubilee clip was tightened but with a new gasket you could see it although I couldn’t see a gap just the crack.
I have tightened it up and applied some epoxy to where the crack is just to make sure no air can get in. If this repair fails what will the symptoms be? I’m reluctant to buy a new one as they are really expensive and I’ve just spent a small fortune replacing the egr valve, alternator and engine mounts.
