I am looking for some help with a problem i have with my c240 v6 estate, when i start the car from cold and drive off, if i accelerate away to quickly the car loses the power on some of the cylinders, the only way it will return to normal is to stop and restart the engine, it also has a bit of a rough idle now although it does run better when warmed up. Any ideas????

Try changing the plugs and plug leads they seem to breakdown under the outer layer of protective coating and I find plugs only last half the time Mercedes say.
Regards Ron

Thanks i shall give that a try and also have a look at the maf sensor as i`ve been told that could be faulty also.

Ditto, I had exactly the same trouble a couple of years ago on my C240, it was the MAF

Where do you think is the best place to buy maf? Not going to the stealership.

euro car parts sell the air mass sensor and its original bosch, for my car (aparently my car has the expensive one) its £169, and a Piersburg one for £75. The dealer quoted £350, so there's quote a discrepancy.

You'll need some DIYing to get the air mass sensor into the air flow meter casing, but its relatively easy.

I've got a new MAF from MB Hertford - £171.75 for a W202 C240. Original MB/Bosch - always worth checking with dealership first....

It appears that there are two different MAS depending on engine number.

One is:
Part A1120940048 , AIR MASS SENSOR

Price: £219.20
10% off £197.28

the other:

Part A1120940148 , AIR MASS SENSOR

Price: £290.29
10% off £261.27

Seems like a fair difference in value for what must be a very similar part.

Mine is the 048 part Listed at £190.61 - but got the 10% off....

Any idea what the difference is between them ?
