Anyone care to hazard a guess at resale value?
238k miles, 2004.
Perfect last 4 MOTs, no advisories.

I'm real stuck for room so could do with getting rid of this one but I'm not going to if it's not worth much.

New Torque Convertor and all suspension arms at 208k.
Lots of work done, conductor plate, radiator, coolant and transmission lines, wheel bearings, reluctor rings etc. etc.
Fitted with NTG2.5 with reverse camera.
Westfalia detachable tow bar fitted with dedicated electrics.

I bet it’s a lovely car and no doubt immaculate seeing how you look after things, but unfortunately the mileage will probably limit the resale value IMHO.

Why not test the water with an advert - a few pictures along with what you’ve posted here and a guide to what you’re looking for - easiest way to see if you’re going to find someone who’s interested :) :thumb:

Thanks, mechanically clean but bumper could do with some paint.

Having a think about it at anything less than 2K I'd likely just keep it "if" I can find a space for it.
Guessing if I advertise it at £2500 I'll get jokers coming round offering me £750 :)

I know a lot of cars with less than half the mileage of this one will not have had anywhere near the same work/care.

It's difficult parting with a car that you specified and factory ordered.

I think something around 170k / 180k miles is where most potential buyers get put off unless it is a cheap car - so even with all the work done I don't think it will make £2k realistically.

Stuck it on Gumtree for £2,300.

Chap came along today and gave me £2k for it.

Sad to see a car we have had since 2004 go but I simply did not have the space.

👍 Done well there Pat.

I'm amazed that last 4 MOTs have no advisories - testers. my Merc indie being no exception, seem to delight in finding great lists of almost random stuff these days.

I had sort of set a limit of £1800 then I'd just keep it and "find" a space.

Chap that came, first one to view bought it.
He was impressed by how clean the car was and the pile of history we had for it detalling the work done.
Wanted a "known" car rather than one being sold by a dealer or "private" with a shoddy history.

I even left the cup holder in the W211 but these are useless anyway. :)

I always do my own check first, wheels off and a full health check with a checklist. ;)

Guy that bought my car has it advertised for sale at £2999 !

What a total bol.ox, that car seemed in great condition for its age.

Must be some sort a wheeler dealer type. Hope he doesn't get a sale. Very frustrating when this type of scenario accures.

I'm easy, good luck to him.

Told me car was for him, messaged me and said steering too heavy for his wife, smells like poo and sounds like poo. :)

Link to the ad? Interested to see how the car looks.. :)

My wife moans about heavy steering in some MB's as well. 211's without parameter steering are on the heavy side, so could be true?

A nice clean 211 (mileage high or not) is fairly rare. I have a 211 estate for dump runs etc, it was £600 but had £1200 worth of parts (And lots of labour!) put into it shortly after I bought it.

That car us stunning for 200k+miles. I would have found that hard to sell if I had put that much effort into looking after it for 17 years.

Guy has turned into a nightmare.

Now messaging me saying I've overcharged and wanting me to take it back!

I really don't understand people like that, they obviously live in a different world to me. Once purchased its not a sale or return an you are not a registered retailer and they cannot simply return it because they think they paid to much. I would be quite blunt with the guy and tell him to go away...
