For me it never looked especially hopeful as a long term enterprise once PSA Group took over. Once the current set of tooling is end-of-life, it’ll close IMHO. Probably not helped by certain other ‘events’ best discussed elsewhere.
 

As usual Stellantis [aka PSA and Fiat-Chrysler] is seeking Government financial incentives to make a fully electric car at the factory. It was argued in parliament yesterday that if all the manufacturers go EV the future of car production in the UK may ultimately depend on building several battery GIGA factories in the UK to service UK vehicle production in the future. As an example while the Nissan leaf is currently made in theUK- where are its batteries made?
