Stepson has bought a Caterham. It's at Gatwick and he needs it to be near Edinburgh and hasn't the time to collect. What would be a reasonable price for him to expect to pay for it's (flatbed) delivery? 450 miles one way.

Hmmm, Gatwick's not far from me (I'm in Croydon)... I could drive to it Edinburgh for a nominal fee, if it's taxed and MOT'd and roadworthy! Does he need it in a hurry? If not, I'm due in Glasgow in mid-May, so could even split the cost.
I'm an IAM Certified Advanced Trainer and I train St John Ambulance drivers, if that's any reassurance. Plus I've driven a Caterham 7 before.

I'll drive it up there and get it there tomorrow. I have a National A Race licence!

Generally expect to pay about £1.50 per mile one way for a one off job.

£1 a mile is the going rate  ouch. If he has personal membership of the AA or RAC it could always conveniently break down and need trailering home ;)

Stick a first class stamp on it - I'm sure they are under 100 grammes

:D
