Very annoying loud audio tone - 2004 C180 2dr komp

Not had this run around 2004 c180 2dr kompressor that long but would be very much appreciated if somebody has a solution for the very annoying loud audio tone that comes on roughly 20-30 seconds after starting the car up?! The radio isn't even switched on but Also noticed that whilst switched on the radio mutes it self randomly after making said tone!

Do you have a bluetooth hands free kit? They can 'helpfully' announce their success or failure in finding a paired device for instance.

Does the car have Audio20 radio, or COMAND NTG2.0 navigation?

And does it have the Convenience Telephony option (in the centre arm rest)?

It has no nav so must be audio 20..

Will have to check this.. if it has any way I can turn the searching for a device off?

Your car won't have Bluetooth (unless you have the optional Bluetooth module in the centre arm rest).
