Just noticed tonight driving from work that every now and again when slowing to a crawl/stop there is a faint amount of brake squeel.

Also (again only every now and again) when moving off from standstill using slight acceleration and then braking again (as you do in stop/start crawling traffic) there is a slight metallic clunk from the brakes on what I think is the passenger side.

Car is new with less than 900 miles on, so is this something I should get looked at or are things just bedding in in the brake department?

Thanks in advance.

If you have used the brakes quite heavily since you got it then they may be slightly glazed which is causing the squeel.

The clunk may just be that the brake pad is slightly smaller but within the limit of the manufacturing tolerances so is being allowed to move about within the caliper.

Wouldnt have thought it should be a problem just keep an eye on it and if it starts to get worse check in with a local garage to have them looked at.
