Not much more I can say really!

Rob from DMS has been working on my CL65 today, and i've just tested the end result.

Near 700BHP and 1110NM of torque mean it goes pretty quick, and our short test gave 180MPH in a measured mile from a 60mph roll.
It was quick before, but now its even quicker!!

Roll on Sunday when I goto battle with the DMS and Ruf tuned Porsches...

DMS were a pleasure to deal with and Rob (owner) is a very friendly guy who knows his stuff, even if he did turn up in a new BMW M5

Hmm M5... i can see the dark side pulling me closer!!

I keep hearing consistently good things about these guys. They quoted half the price Brabus/Kleemann wanted for effectively the same level of tuning.

Maff, tell us again how much the tyres are for your car.

Glad its all sorted Maff.

Tell me - is it *totally* delimited, or will it still pull the reins in at 186?

REALLY looking forward to seeing it on Sunday.

Totally delimited. Rob reconed if Guy in the Ruf GT2 wasn't going it would be the fastest there, although close. Will have to bribe him not to go :D

1110NM of torque!

Can the drivetrain take that?

So i've been told.

The TCU (transmission control unit) is actually pretty clever in that it has its own limiter for 1st and 2nd gears, that limit first gear torque to approx 600NM and second slightly more.

Whilst the work yesterday increased the engine power, the limiters in the TCU have only been increased by 6%, however full power is available from 3rd upwards, where there is not so much of a problem with the power.

The gearbox also has a total limiter of about 1150NM which is still in place.

I still need to drive it a bit more, but it feels quicker from 3rd onwards, and a bit quicker in 2nd.

Get someone to distract him while you stretch some cling-film over his air filter ;)

Ah well, you will find out soon enough! :D

At what RPM do these mighty peak power and torque points arrive?

Recon you'll be able to hit the magic milestone then?

...or will you need to change gear ratio's to get that high

Is the 200mph+ Saphhire Cossie or the bloke with the 215mph Viper going?

Peak power and torque arrive at 2000rpm and redline is 5500rpm, almost diesel like :D

Current gearing will get me to approx 220mph, I've never actually used 5th Gear on any of these runs, but will have to on Sunday (I hope!)

I dont expect to break 200, more like 191 or 192 I recon.

I suggest Optimax rather than chip shop oil though :D

possibly also one of those octane boost additives, and leave the spare wheel at the trackside etc ;)
