Mercedes Viano Extra Long
Hi,

Have recently purchased an Extra Long Viano. Was originally an 8 seater however previous owner replaced with 4x Captains Chairs & Tables in the rear.

Looking for 2x sets of the 3 rear seats (middle and rear row) to put back in.

Ideally in two-tone Orion Grey to match the rest (as the vehicle had originally also).

I have been looking online for a couple of months but had no luck. Can anyone help?

Also, regarding the Seats, are the middle and rear rows identical? I’m guessing they are, just with the rear row having the outer armrests removed?

We really prefer the captain,s chairs and table. However doesn't the rear trim in the Viano limit the rear seats to two. I know yours would be bench seats but in ours the trim intrudes quite a way in to the interior. Although we have the individual seats in the rear there really doesn't seem room for the 3 seat bench. Just had a look and it looks like that without the arms the 3 seat bench would fit. Had a look on ebay? There are some in grey but they are different from ours a much more simple seat without the supporting sides.

Hi,

Have been looking on eBay for a couple of months but no luck.
There was someone in London selling 3 on there but they disappeared quickly.

It is possible to fit the 3 in the rear of the Viano - not sure how much the trim differs size wise from the Vito’s but I have been in numerous Viano’s with the 2-3-3 layout.
(In fact the Extra Long Viano (with the extended floor rails that the Vito lacks) even allows 3 rear rows of seats (4 rows in total) in a 2-2-2-3 layout, and was offered as an option new from Mercedes and is featured in the manual, although I have yet to see one in person).

What I am trying to figure out however is if the middle and rear rows of 3 (a 2 and 1 put together in an 8 seat 2-3-3 layout) are identical or whether they are different parts / part numbers?

The middle row (either forward or rear facing) has outer armrests, however, as you mentioned above, the rear row of 3 goes tight into the corners and I don’t think has the outer arm rests.
What I am trying to figure out is are both rows / seats otherwise identical (as I may have to source them at different times from different sources as they are proving difficult to track down), and it’s just a case of clipping on / un-clipping the outer arm rests?

Most of the sets of 3 seats on eBay at the minute seem to be out of a Vito which I don’t particularly want as they lack the adjustment and cushioning of the Viano seats (which are apparently E class seats on a different base) as well as the arm rests (plus are not real leather, even with the ‘Comfort’ option).

If anyone has any more pointers please let me know.

Not got access to the EPC? That would be the place to confirm it. I will have a look and see.

The EPC seems to make no difference and only lists one luxury and one standard bench seat complete with arm rests. I would think that if it wouldn't fit the arm rests could be removed and the blanking plate from the rest fitted to the seat body. The interior trim in the back of ours does make it narrow with the air conditioning and the two individual seats, with arm rests, do come very close with no real space in the centre that will only take the table. If you can come up with the VIN of an Extra Long or even the first six numbers to differentiate it on the EPC might help.

Hi Marku,

Thanks for the information. Have never heard of the EPC before.

Will take a look tomorrow and try and get some numbers over to you.

This might be too late now but I have three rows of seats. The only difference on mine is that row 3 doesn't have arm rests. When the 3rd row are removed you can see where the cutout would be if they are fitted. I would bet they are mechanically the same in the plastic trim on the side.

I have 2 rows of seats with 2+1 every row. Black leather, seat belts, as new.
Happy to exchange one row 2+1 for two single seats "capitan style".
