Hello. My work buddy connected our company's Viano w639 to a starter since the battery was dead after standing for a month.
We supoose he connected it to 24V instead of 12V, and it smoked the glow plug relay box under the windshield.
After getting that off, the key wont turn in the ignition.
I got the whole dash off, and opened up the key module and it "looks" fine, nothing burnt, nothing melted and no smells whatsoever under the dash.
Also, some of the fuses under the hood are not getting any power.
Any good place to start figuring this out?
I don't think the ecu got fried since the car locks and unlocks, lights work and the odometer is displaying all the correct mileage and everything, but i can't know for sure since i can't turn the key.
