Hi all,
My new (to me) W202 C200 manual has a vibration that goes through the gear lever in second. it happens if you lean your hand backward on the lever. The lever is vibration-free in all other gears.
It decreases and increases slightly in frequency with road speed (not engine speed). If the clutch is disengaged then it is still faintly present.
If I accelerate briskly in 2nd (and sometimes thrid), there is also a rattling noise that seems to come from behind the central vents in the dash. Doesn't seem to be related to whether the fan / AC is on or off.
From the searches I've done on here it seems that engine / trans mount is the culprit.
I can post a youtube clip if that helps?
