Dear All,

Can anyone help and/or advise...

Getting vibrations in the seat and steering when i am driving speeds of 70MPH and above.

changed the back two tyres and the front tyres were also aligned and balanced..

still suffering vibrations..

Are your wheels straight (not dented)?

I assume you have used a quality balancer (computer controlled)

Vibration through the seat would suggest poor rear balance. As would steering. Can you drive through it?

If yes then try using a different wheel shop.

When you say front wheels checked, do you mean for being true and round?

Have the rears been checked for true and round also?

;)

:d:d:d

Wot, not smilies

I did wonder what the fuss was about as I found Steves original reply as perfectly worded.

I meant John's of course......no idea who Steve is  :D

I was being serious, it does sound like out of round wheels or tyres...on the assumption that the balance really is accurate.

Wouldn't a wheel that was't right manifest itself below 70mph?

A sensitive driver may detect an out of round tyre at slow speed, but most won't notice until the wheel starts to oscillate at speed, which due to the tyre size, will be at about 70mph.

It could also be knackered dampers.

Yep, totally agree. Been there and that is exactly what it was.
