VIN and age of the car - CLK55 AMG

Checked my VIN online and it says the delivery date of the car is 10/00. Could this be when the model was introduced as my registration says 2002?! This was what I bought it as... Based in Dubai and it is an import from Japan so it is possible that it is a 2000 model but must have ben one of the first if it is...

Anyone that can shed some light on the basic VIN report???

The delivery date from EPC shows when the car rolled off the production line. It can be quite a while between this date and when the selling dealer actually registers the car with the relevant motoring authority in the destination country.

For a 10/2000 build date I would assume the car to be model year 2001 with the option code 801 in the data card. Would be easy to check from the VIN...
