Do you have any spyware installed? If not, try Spybot Search & Destroy; it has two memory resident programs running (SDHelper for IE, and TeaTimer for Registry protection) that prevents "most" attacks of this sort.

(Apologies if you know all this and have it installed already)

Thanks. I blame the site not anyone who finds something of interest to tell others about. I do have Spybot resident, but this slipped past it. However, after I updated with the latest immunizations it sorted the prob. Oh, by the way, I knew something was wrong when a "fun" toolbar appeared on Internet Explorer.
