Got the MBU-2 unit and the address book is doing something odd. I have under a 100 contacts but by using OPP mode (the auto mode doesn't work) I only transfer about 5 addresses. I've reset and the same ones come over including a new one I added yesterday. How can I get all the addresses over (if it is possible)?

PS. I'm on 3 network if that makes a difference!

Do your contacts come from the SIM of your phone?

And.. are the numbers preceded +44? If yes, you need to drop the +44 and just use the 01....

as above, make sure no + in front, this sometimes causes issues, as do e-mail addresses.

The MB-2 should sync automatically. We have tested on an N96 and it worked 100%.

The contacts are on the phone and some do contain a + as well as some having email addresses. Do both of these problems also cause the same issue on the N96 as I'm due an upgrade soon?

Also, check your N95 has the latest software on it (update from Nokia website but backup your phone first)

Also what model year is the car [i.e is it really a MY09 with the inbuilt bluetooth + comfort phone, if so, you could try switching the switches as per W204 requirement]

FWIW, I found that the contacts had to be in the sim and not the phones memory.

Numbers with +44 etc need to be converted to 01XX for the contact name to be displayed on your head unit.

Expect N96 to be the same as N95

Thanks guys it was the +44 it didn't like! Got the contacts to the unit (Its a new CLK but I don’t think they have the MY09 units). It didn't sync automatically as I get a "system error" on the phone when it try's. Can that be fixed enabling it to work properly?

No probs - its a setting in the bluetooth menu for the connection between your car and the N95.

Look in there and you should see a remote sim entry - make sure it says that it is being used.

The MB-2 is not a SAP (Remote Sim) device, so it doesnt matter whether its on or off on the phone.

The MB-2 should be transferring contacts - I suggest you raise a support case with whoever it was bought from and let them take it up with Triamp to understand why it doesnt work .

The MB-2 has a newer bluetooth chipset than the MBU1000/MBU2000 and i'm told that chipset supports phonebook download from E/N series much better than before.

Please do ensure that your phone is updated to the latest software (you can download the updater program from www.nokia.com )

Cheers
Richard

Remembering of course to back up all the data on your phone *before* proceeding with any recommended firmware update.... :o

Yes the updating of software is a nightmare on the Nokia N series. I try and avoid it as it takes about a week for me to get everything how I liked it on the phone!

The error message seems to be with PC Suite synchchronization but I've found setting the "Allow Sync Requests" set to "No" fixes it.
