Has anyone had problems with the VISEEO MB-2 ?
I recently got one and it worked o.k in the car,,,, but I couldn’t get it to update the firmware. Seemed to be a connection/lead problem I suspect.

They very kindly replaced the unit,,,, but then it wasn’t ‘stable’ in the car. Sometimes it would work o.k and others, it wouldn’t seem to latch on to the phones. I put phones (plural) as I tried two of my own (Motorola K1 & L6) and I of my Sons Nokia – all with the same result.

After starting the motor, I press the PHONE button, and more often than not, all I get is the word PROCESSING on the Radio,,,, and WAIT on the Dash readout. Usually the green light just flashes away merrily,,,, though, yesterday, the green light did stay on,,, with the same results.
On a trip to the hospital the other week, this is all I got for about an hours travelling,,,,.
I unplugged the unit whilst in the hospital, and when I came out & I re inserted it. It was o.k this time. More often than not, it fails. Again the unit was replaced, but I still get the same results.

I really can’t see it being the same problem with both replacements.
I can’t see it being a problem with all phones.
I guess this only leaves me with duff connection / wiring in the car.

Has anyone else had similar experience ?
Any ideas what might be causing this ?
Is there another brand of ‘Module’ for these motors ?

Any help or advice appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

PS: Is there a previous Haynes manual that covers this engine ?

Have you tried any phone in a cradle in the car? Sounds like an issue at the car, judged from the "wait" and "processing" indication at the cluster.

Ideally I need to know what version of the S/W the cradle has in it. To find this out, press and hold the top two buttons on the cradle for about 5 seconds. Then in your incoming call list on the head unit there will be a long number. Let me know what that number is.

Did you get the cradle from us? No problem if not. We will still help, just helps to know where it came from thats all.

Have you followed the pairing instructions to the letter and pressed the reset button when the green sync light stops flashing?

D.B: No mate. Only bought the car a few weeks ago. I thought it had Bluetooth in it,,,, but it didn't.

Alfie: Cheers mate. The unit came from MEDEA in Scotland.
I'll check the S.W shortly.
I thought I'd followed the instructions to the letter,,,,, but I don't recall seeing anywhere about pressing the RESET button after Set-Up (apart from on one of your threads).
Of course, that also relies on the green light actually stopping ! When it's playing up,,,, it just carries on flashing.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this,,,,,

The SW seems to be o.k at: 02136009023.

I didn't get around to doing the ReSet, as the green light didn't stop flashing again. I waited for about 15 minutes then had to give up.

I'm disabled so it takes me a while to do anything (hence my need for reliable kit) so will have another bash tomorrow.

After reading my initial problem, do you think that re-setting is the answer ? As I say, sometimes, it's o.k,,,, other times it isn't.

Thanks for your help.

Right,,,,

I did a full re-set and install.
I deleted Viseeo from the phone, and did a master re-set on the MB-2.

I re installed it as per the booklet, then pressed Reset.
I got NO PHONE for a while,,,,, then Viseeo came up on the display, but when pressing 'MEM' I got 'PROCESSING'.

This has now gone and the unit is working as it should,,,,,, but,,,,, it very often does this. The intermittent problem is, that very often - it dosn't !

I have to go to the hospital now, so it will give it a few On/Off ignitions whilst I'm away.

I have not removed the unit from the car, as I didn't want to break any connection (physical or wireless).

Once these units are running properly, are they meant to be left in the car ? I am still getting used to things being left 'live' on this vehicle after vacating & locking it !? So I don't know if it goes 'off' with the ignition off, or stays live.

Will report back later.
Thanks for your patience.

UPDATE:

The kit was o.k when I went out. I got out the car and left it for 2 hours. When I got back in, the kit wouldn't 'connect' & I got the usual PROCESSING. After 10 minutes or so, all lights came on & stayed solid. Readout was still PROCESSING & nothing else would work.

I ended up removing the MB-2 from the connector for a few moments. When I put it back, it was o.k.

Does this help you to help me Alfie ?

(The SW seems to be o.k at: 02136009023)

Processing indicates that it is trying to download the contacts again.

It does sound like it might be faulty. I would ask for a replacement from the supplier and lets go with that.

,,, the strange thing is,,,, that the previous one had the same 'fault' and was replaced.
(Different S/N so they are different units).

I was about to ask M.Benz to check the wiring/connection, but decided that there would be more knowledge on the forum.

Am, I limited to Viseeo for this motor ?

Nope. if its the 2007 E class then you can try the Mercedes HFP instead.

Omega,

Have you made any progress with your problem, I have the exact same issues with the Viseeo MBU-2.

Viseeo and blackberry bold

I have just bought a viseoo 2000 for mercedes benz..i am trying to connect it to a blackberry bold..

the viseoo switches on fine..it allows the blackberry to find it via bluetooth pairing but when i input the password 1234 it says connection failed on my blackberry screen..any ideas how i solve this?

it is getting as far as the password section then fails to connect or complete pairing..

i have done reset etc but that didn't work..i also downloaded a firmware upgrade from VISEEO site..that didn't work either ..please help with any suggestions..many thanks..PS IT IS SOMETHING TO DO WITH BLACKBERRY AND VISEEO COMPATIBILITY AS A SONY PHONE DOES PAIR UP WITH THE VISEEO..hope some one else has had same problem..cheers

Viseeo works fine with my Bold ... strange ...

You should upgrade the CPU to the latest version (025) from ViseeO - Innovation and Competitive Advantage,ODM/OEM and After Market Products,Continuous Customer Relationship Building - MBU-1000,MBU-2000,ck390,ck391,Bluetooth Upgrade Kit as per the supplied instructions. That fixes a few problems including "all the lights on after a power off / power on" that (rarely) occured on the older versions

We have seen the odd Bold not work, ans as SYM says, some do. How about checking whether the Bold has the latest firmware release on it.

(Sym, what s/w is on your blackberry - no idea how to find that out though !!)

Cheers

Richard

UPDATE:
I never did get the Viseeo thing to work properly.
Looked nice enough,,,,, even worked – sometimes, but as I had the same problem with each one, my opinion - fwiw - is either a design glitch or bad batch of some item within.
To be truthful, the retailer was as good a gold, & swapped it 3 times.
In the end I bought a Mercedes item, & boy - what a difference. So far, it hasn't let me down once.
I now feel that I have a product that I can actually rely on.

Good luck to you others.

i have the visee o and run 2 phones through it with no problems,i do not remove it from the car,and whichever phone i have with me always work, nokia e71 & sony ericson s500i.there are 2 types of visee o depending on the type of b/tooth your car is set up with and age of vehicle.

I had exactly the same issues as the initial post by Omega and after 2 new units and multiple attempts to get them to function correctly the supplier suggested I change to the Mercedes model, which is great and I have to add the supplier was also first class.

I have used 3 phone cradles with my vehicle (including the bluetooth V3 and V3i cradle) all without any issues and now back to another Mercedes all is good again.

ViseeO MB2 compatible phones

Does anyone know where I can go to see the approved/supported phones for the MB2?
I am still not getting anywhere in trying to pair a Motorola V3x to the MB2.
This model maybe the only V3 that ViseeO have forgotten.
Any clues on how to get a definitive answer on compatibility?

Thanks

I don't think there is a definitive list of approved phones. This would open the floodgates to suppliers & manufacturers about which phone WILL definitely work.
I have 2 Motorola's (K1 [main] & L6 [secondary]) I also tried a neighbours Motorola & my Sons LG & Sony. NONE of them would work properly with ANY of the MB-2 units that I tried.

((I'll never ever buy Motorola again - but that's another story !?))

It was suggested (by the MB-2 supplier) that the car might be faulty. I had it checked out by Mercedes (Free) who said it tested fine. I then had it tested by an Indie (£40) who said it tested fine.

The supplier was good enough to replace it 3 times,,,, but it was still a damn inconvenience - having to send it back, then wait for them to look at it & send out a replacement - which took about 3/4 weeks each time.

I had about 2 hours use out of 6 months ownership - I decided that Viseeo isn't the unit for me so got a refund.

In the end I got a MB item, & it's never let me down once,,,, on any phone (a further test as to the condition of the car - as if one was needed !?).

Compatibility ?
It seems to be "suck it 'n see". Although some people are satisfied with this model, in my mind, there are far too many unsatisfied people and stories, that make me think there might be a problem with the manufacture. It may be a case of a bad batch of some component or other - it does happen - regularly.

If you want a Viseeo, & have the time to mess about - then give 'em a try. You may get lucky. In my case - and it seems like lots & lots of others - it's just not reliable.

Good Luck mate,,,,,
