Vito 108cdi Dash light problem

Hi all,new to the forum,just wondered if anyone can give me an idea as to why the dash on my51 plate vito 108 cdi wont illuminate when the headlights are switched on,all the warning lights etc come on on starting up but when i put the headlights on the dials dont light up so i cant drive at night at the moment,any help would be appreciated

Hi Stonehands.
On my 110 Vito with 115k on the clock half the instrument back light bulbs were already blown.
I removed the dash (dead easy, only two screws at the top, & it pulls out) & I replaced all of the blown & the remaining ones whilst I was at it. They were little capless lamps in black plastic holders that were removed by a 1/4 turn.
