Vito
Hello first post since joining and I have a problem. Coming home last night my Vito went into limp mode and I managed to get home.
The Vito wont rev over 3000rpm its like hitting a wall or rev limiter at 3000rpm. No engine management light was seen no smoke was observed just loss of power. Any ideas? Im thinking MAF sensor.

UPDATE - Been to a Mercedes specialist today who put his diagnostic box into action. came up with CDI - Faults 2 of them Charge Boost Pressure and Fuel Pressure Rail Fault hes taken a quick look said something about a possible boost pressure transducer faulty or a split pipe. The thing is fault cleared this morning and has not reoccured going to go under the bonnet tmrw and take a good look at all the intake hoses electrical connections and hope I find something obvious. £20 for a quick diagnostic check but he said if fault returns come back and he will retest for free. He did say the faults could be old stored ones.

good luck. Petrol or diesel ? And year ? And does ur engine light on the dash work ? check all dash bulbs at ign on.

Diesel 110CDi 2002 Reg 99000 miles been under the car checked all pipes and the valve on the turbo all seems ok a little dry so lubricated valve spindle and arm mechanism maybe it was stuck open.Ive noticed however at the front of the engine just off centre to the left beneath the radiator exapnsion tank there is quite a bit of oil residue all over Ive read about posssible split pipes. Maybe something there?

No dash lights at all and Eng Mgmt light does work

Think Ive found it Ive a crack triangular shaped on my intercooler hose coupling flange on the intercooler plastic header tank. Took some finding poking and proding but its there. Found it all by feeling around the hose joint. Thing is now how easy is it to change is it radiator out and disconnect or can you take the lot out?

Do you mean the plastic top part of the intercooler is cracked ? And what do you mean rad out and disconnect ? Well done on the find

I think the whole lot has to come out before you can seperate the intercooler from the rad. A lot of work it looks like but quite easy. Maybe metal putty could repair in situ ?

Ah well thats my Saturday taken care of this week im going to try araldite epoxy or liquid metal see what ive got at work
