Hi all I have a 2011 116cdi Vito auto approaching 140000 miles on the clock
Recently, a vibration/judder occurs between 40-45mph and slightly on initial pull-away. Starting to drive me mad. Local garage believe it’s the diff but they wanted 2nd opinion (non specialist)
Questions are to the learned members here:
What is the ratio of my diff? ( I believe it to be 38:11)
Is there a specific diff for an auto or same as manual?
Looking at options like buy a used diff and get refurbed, then swap out

Thanks in advance

Further to my OP, I’ve discovered it’s the prop shaft and worn UJ. Anyone purchased a non OE Vito prop from one of the many suppliers out there and can recommend please?

You've already seen my post on Titan. That van ran well until I sold it.

I have a Titan prop here from an ex long that has done 6,640 miles if that's of any interest.

It would take some abuse to damage the diff but is possible I suppose. I've replaced the fluid in there for peace of mind as it only takes 1.6 litre at a cost of about £20. Make sure the filler plug will come out before draining though.
Fuchs Titan Gear Hypoid 90, GL5, 80W-90. MB 235.0

For interest the diff ratios.
Diffs
V6 38:13 2.923
2.1 35:11 3.182
2.1 36:11 115 3.273
2.1 38:11 111 & 115 3.455
2.1 41:11 109 3.727
2.1 45:11 manual 4.091

Hi M80, yes usually search before posting just not this time!
Mines SWB but thanks for the advice and offer
Local garage suspected diff but I took to a transmission specialist and he ruled gearbox and diff out. Had it in to an MB specialist I found locally (McLeods Brigg) who showed me it up on the ramps as being a knackered UJ on the prop and they have seen it before cause vibration etc. I’ll refresh the diff oil in any case, as you advise and look up Titan

There are many places will replace a uj, last time I had this done (Salford prop's, (a city near M/cr)) it cost about £120. After that I decided new at a bout £270 was best as by the time you renew bearing and the other uj's are also worn any saving can soon be lost.
The longevity of the Titan props is still unknown though.
