Hi all,
Does anyone know a good way through the front bulkhead for a feed from the battery to my 2 amps under the seats?
There does not seem to be many grommets for cables etc....
Anyone done this already?

Cheers

There is an easy open space into the front, take the lid off the black box and use a pull through, the harness go's to the front Sam there, loads of extra space, use a mega fuse and it will all look factory.

Awesome, thanks for the reply!! Don't totally understand what you mean though... Sorry.?
I have opened the black box thing, what should I be looking for?

Thanks.

With the lid off, you can see the wires going into the van, this is a large hole, must me 100mm square, more then enough room for a wire.

Will go and look again now......

Push a pull through and get under the dash, take the lower N/S trim down under the dash and look for the pull through, easy to find.

Ok I'm with you now, looking from inside is much more obvious!! Where's the battery, or where should the power lead be mounted to?

The battery is under the seat.

At the front of the black box you will see a copper rail, on the end there is a 10mm nut, use this to take the power, then a mega fuse, short tail, then into the van to the amp.

Ok!! Thanks very much, will have a go at getting some cables installed. What kind of setup and placement have you gone for?

All mine is at the back, power goes up the A post and over the top to Hertz amps.
Then a short ground from the body.
All the speaker wires go to the rear amps then to the speakers.

I see, you have seats in the back? I'm using my Vito as a van so have a bulkhead.
What speakers are you using in the front doors? I'm looking for some at the moment.

Hertz 165 HE components, they do Not just drop in and only just fit with MDF adapters.
Then I have the JL audio c5 650 driver in a custom mdf box under my seat.
Next stage is another set of hertz for the rear and another amp to drive them.

Might be better with 5", like the Hertz or Audison in the doors unless you are experienced in this type of thing.

Thanks, that's a nice sounding set up you got there. Are the tweeters mounted in the original place?
I think some decent 5" comps in the doors will be fine for me for now. I am toying with the idea of another set of speakers in the bulkhead to increase the mid and treble in the cab.

Audison Voce 5.25 components in the doors, or Hertz.
Tweeters in the A post on the joint area is the right hight.
Don't put speakers in the bulkhead it will not sound good.
Then a sub under the seat.

Ha ha, noted ;)
Sub under the seat also, I'm looking forward to getting it all in!!
Have you posted any pics of your install?

You should find the sub install.
Very time consuming but worth it, sounds great.

Did you have much of an issue with distortion/rattles? I sm concerned I will need miles of Dynamat to deaden the cab area!!

No problems, I have insulated anyway.

I have speakers in the back of my partially converted day/camper. I have put the speakers in the rear doors and have run the wires across the roof. Does anyone know the best way to get them behind the stereo? Through the cab headlining or under the floor? Thank you!
