Hi

I have recently bought an 2013 model MB VITO (II) (639). The navigation/radio is an Comand APS NTG 2.5 (I think - see picture). In the user guide it states that I should have en USB and AUX in the glovebox. But i only have AUX.

Is there any options to add USB or BT Audio to this radio?

If you want USB (or iPod) you need to retrofit the Media Interface option. Theres a 3rd party device that will plug into that for bluetooth Audio streaming - called a Viseeo WMA3000A

Ok. So nothing cheaper? The Media Interface is about 500usd or more?

The only thing im trying to achieve is playing Spotify through bluetooth.

Do you have a 12v socket in the glove box as well? I just bought an aux/bluetooth adapter for streaming off ebay. Plugs in to the aux socket and the other end has a usb for power. You will need a cigarette socket to usb charger plug as well. This is the one i bought. Car 12V Module Adapter bluetooth Wireless Radio Stereo Aux USB 3.5MM Jack Plug | eBay
its only it for streaming audio as it doesn't have a microphone. With this it streams through the aux setting. You do need to use the phone to control spotify as it doesn't come up on the screen but it does the job for me.

Yeah, thats a solution. But can you control the volume with the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel?

Yes you can, as the volume is controlling the aux output of the stereo not the phone. You need to turn up the media output on the phone to full volume (which it probably already is), connect the phone to the bluetooth adaptor and away you go :thumb:

After-market BT Streaming solutions will allow you to listen to Spotify music via the car's infotainment system, and control the volume, but you won't be able to control the iPhone e.g. change tracks or fast forward etc.

This is fine is your passenger is managing the audio tracks, or if you have pre-arranged playlists (or listen using the shuffle option).

However, only a proper MB kit e.g. iPod kit will allow you to manage the audio tracks from COMAND. This means being able to use either the COMAND controls or the steering wheel buttons to skip tracks or chose playlists etc.

(I have COMAND without the iPod kid, but this is not an issue for me, because my music is on the SD-Card anyway, and the Spotify music is managed by my daughter from her iPhone when she is in the car with me).

Thanks. The solution for me was to replace the Comand. I replaced it with a aftermarket Pioneer designed for my car. Now i have BT Audio, Apple Carplay and much more. But the solution was not cheap.
