Vito Dome Light operation W638

Is it normal for W638 courtesy/interior light to ONLY work with key in ignition? The remote toggles dash lights on for a short period when locking/unlocking...and interior light work and toggle from door switches, but only when key is in???

I have very recently bought one of these buses (not van version) and assume you are in the same position
So, just been outside to see what happens on mine - unlock car with remote and the interior light comes on, if i stand back and do not open the door then the light goes off after a short while, when i then open the door the light comes on. At no time did i use the key. HTH

Thanks, I do have the VAN version (is this only a BUS version function?) but thats what I thought should happen...in either case does anybody have info where this "timed light circuit" is located?
