I've just changed the head gasket on my 2000 x reg vito 2.2 cdi. it is getting fuel to the injectors but won't start. a friend of mine has suggested that the fuel pump might be 180 degrees out. I won't be able to touch the van till tomorrow, just wondered if it sounded reasonable or if anyone has any other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance

Cdi pumps are just high pressure pumps, there is no timing, what about the engine timing?

Air in fuel system. It will take sometimes veeery long/many crankings before fires up. Did you change o-rings of the fuel return lines? If not, they probably are now leaking (and getting air in) after disturbed by disassembling.

Thank you for the help guy its turned out to be a duff cam shaft sensor.
