Hi,
Struggling to re-install my Vito W639 (2011) rear seats the other night and the single seat forward 'prong' of the latch lodged in the runner and stuck without being in the correct location.
After much struggling to try and free the seat, I unbolted the forward latch from the seat enabling me to lift the seat out.
When I came to re-locate the bush and bolt through the forward latch, I couldn't determine the position and their appears to be a ram/piston inside etc
I usually know what I'm doing, and have tackled far-harder tasks but I'm baffled as to how or what rotation the front latch locates as it just looks 'wrong' and has no movement.

Is there a parts diagram of the seat or has anyone experienced similar and resolved?

Thanks in advance

Could you post a photo of the seat runners you have, just for me to look at & hopefully i can help.

Is this the single seat on a 2+1 bench?
Can the forward latch on the 2 seat part give you a clue?

I was thinking similar till a RAM/PISTON was mentioned..

There is a flat bar under the seat which can bend easily causing all sorts of alignment problems. They are overcomplicated in my opinion.. .. . And bloody heavy too. Just check everything is straight underneath

I don't know if this is fitting inot the adjstable rails or not, but I have had problems when one rail is out of line with another.
I use a large screw driver to push down on the inner sprung slider and move to match the other rail/s. The arrows on the rails are useful for alignment

Done what you say several times but not with that result. The seat will not engage if the front catch is misaligned. The result usually is that the seat is at an angle to the rails. I think you would have problems even trying to force it. With a little effort the catch will clear the rail and you can engage it in the proper position. If you tried to complete the seat fitting to the rail without the rear catch being properly engaged the the front catch will look wrong. The answer is to return the seat to the disengaged position.
