Vito SportX exhaust falling to bits

Bought this luvly looking van on a cold wet day so didn't give the underside as much attention as I should have. Since then I've spent a lot of time in 'limp' mode due to a low pressure error in the dpf so I have a new pressure sensor which I tried to fit yesterday. However, the whole exhaust is in a terrible state, lots of hangers rusted through, poor repairs snapped, signs of a leak between cat & dpf which is a weld rather than a clamped joint. It looks awful!
Now I knew the rear half was likely to need replacing but now I'm looking at a cat & dpf too. No point calling the dealers as I recon the quote will be about what I paid for the van in the first place. Can't see any used ones on ebay. Any advice on what aftermarket units would reliably work or a specialist in the south that could help (I'm new to Mercs)??

So it's a 08 plate, 3.0 V6 on 170k mls

That seems a decent price for a whole system. Odd that the original one is so bad though. I had the hanger come off on my rear box (07 plate) a few years ago ... needed it back on the road ASAP so went for an aftermarket back box (quicker than trying to find someone to weld a new hanger on), but the rest of the system is still original.

Sorry Geoff, thought that was an advert and not a linky to a possibly great solution. From reading on here last few days I was under the impression that it wasn't a good idea to use seemingly cheap pattern stuff when it comes to dpf's & cats, but I'm now thinking a UK approved system could be the answer. I'd much prefer to bypass it all and get a remap, but it looks too risky nowadays.

Yes, I was surprised at the state of it also. Rest of it seems OK except for where the spare wheel carrier was removed leaving big areas with no underseal. Salty roads and living by the sea hasn't helped.

Nige, have a google round, that was the first one I came to. May also pay to give your local exhaust man a call.
