Had my 2014 Dualiner remapped last week by the guys at Celtic Tuning.........wow, what a difference!

It's a 2.1 116 (163bhp 266lb/ft stock) and the new map is a joy to drive. Real useable power across the range, pulls like a train and the fuel returns aren't too shabby either!

Just done a full tank and returned 36mpg average across the 560 miles with, what I would describe as 'normal' driving, loaded up with the Mrs, 2 kids and the usual tonne of unnecessary stuff that this comes with!

Pub figures of 204bhp and 310lb/ft are all well and good and I appreciate I'll be losing some of that through the auto transmission etc, but the drive of the van is superb! Wipes the floor with my old T5.1!!

Good to hear that, I'm planning on getting my v6 vito remaped and I think they get it up to 265bhp which I think is great. Mine has been mapped by the previous owner but I don't think it's been mapped properly. It's quick but not 265bhp quick.
How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
Also do they put the car on the rollers before and after?

Hi Sam87,

I went for the stock remap on my bus, there are no other mods to it and therefore they have a map for most stock vehicles. As for how much, it was £295 all in, this was with post install test run and two week cool-off period. I believe they do rolling road but I'm guessing this is at HQ in Newquay.

Hope this helps?

My Viano 3.0 maybe remapped by a previous owner, but doesn't have the easy power around town that my previous Vito 115 did have. That most definitley had been remapped, from new i was told.
I sold that at 330k miles so remaps don't seem to reduce engine longevity.

My concern is that the Vito used to pull too hard at tickover and fight the parking brake at traffic lights and such, how is this on 116 now its remapped?

TBH it feels the same as it did before the remap when at a stop and in gear. I know what you mean about the 'pull' when stopped, other autos I've had before seemingly dropped the drive when park brake resistance was felt. I'm assuming this is a Vito or Merc characteristic but certainly wouldn't put me off getting one done again.

Would have loved to get the V6 but couldn't justify the running costs sadly! On a similar note - just had a couple days away, did a couple hundred miles and returned an average of 40.8mpg, which I didn't think was too shabby considering the power gains (that may also have been utilised occasionally)!

Thanks for that, we've been to London for a couple of days so not around to reply.

If you can continue to achieve that sort of economy you should be very happy. I drive for economy and the 115 returned 31.6 over 34k miles (accurate calculation).
The 370 mile rturn yo London and the OBD is showing 34.3mpg, and I know that will be optimistic some. Over 7.8k miles the average is closer to 25mpg.
I bought the V6 CDI fo its quite smooth comfort but continually question my intelligence considering the cost of the rather disappointing additional cost.

On a shorter journey my MPG is lower but that stands to reason, but do kinda wish I'd stretched for the V6! However with the lower fuel returns and the temptation to use that power it's probably best I didn't! The quietness is something that annoys me about the 2.1, it does sound very commercial compared to my T5 2.0 that I just sold

Its interesting be cause mine is pretty sweet.. although I'm a 111CDi with the 646 engine, dunno if that makes a difference. It wouldn't be injector noise would it, they are prone to "Black Death" and it may be you injectors your hearing no?

Sure it's nothing like that, it runs like a dream, pulls well and starts on the button
