W 204 estate - all like this?

Hi. I'm new to the forum but it has already been really helpful. Just bought 2011 220 se estate and while nosing around noticed rear nearside mat wasn't sitting flat. Carpet just behind inside seat runner is bulging up and I can feel a small piece of metal sticking up too. Seems odd to me but before I take it in and ask what's up I thought I would check they aren't all like that! Can anyone help?

Sorry can't help other than to say mine doesn't have the metal sticking up that you mention. I'm still a newbie but welcome.

Thanks for the response and for looking. Does this mean your carpet is completely flat behind front passenger seat as it is behind the driver seat (in mine I can only feel the metal tab when I press down on the area where the carpet is raised. Still unsure whether it is shaped like that to clear the metal tab or whether I have an odd one!
