got advisory about a rear brake hose going south so decided to replace all 4 with goodrich braided. i got new ones & booked her in for fitment. same day garage asked to see me . i went and was told that they could not be fitted as they did not have the "point" in the end that attaches to the metal pipe. the end on the hose is cupped but the end on the damaged hose is pointed. the supplier says new hose ok sold hundreds no probs. the fitter says he will not fit them as he thinks they are not safe. who is right supplier or fitter ? any help much appreciated thanks.

Sounds to me like the old hoses had a male end, and the new ones have a female end. You may well be able to get a gender bender (female-male) and fit them that way, but you would need to speak to your fitter about that.

Alternatively, send them back to your supplier and ask for ones with a male end.

I hope I've not got the wrong end of the stick here?
